World Food Day focuses on Living Wage

At Eosta we believe in enjoying good food and improving the world at the same time. On 16 October, World Food Day, we participated in a panel discussion on Living Wage in Amsterdam. Our Marketing manager Marie-Ange Vaessen stated that Living Wage is a must, if you want to make the food system sustainable. Eosta now supplies mangoes, avocados and passion fruit with a Living Wage promise. Retailers, however, seem reluctant to communicate about it. Marie-Ange: "Supermarkets all over Europe are buying our avocados at a Living Wage price, but they don't inform consumers about it. In this way the system gets stuck. When you educate consumers, they are motivated to pay a decent price and can make an informed choice."

Let’s refresh the food system and grow food in a way that makes the income gaps smaller!
