The Sherlock of urine: Troubling glyphosate levels

The Dutch Robin Food Coalition, comprising 70+ sustainable food SMEs, scientists and NGOs, launched the Dutch Pee Inspector campaign. Thousands of tests showed that glyphosate, a harmful substance in non-organic agriculture, was present in all participants. Want to know what's in your body?

Glyphosate as a symbol

The Robin Food Coalition looked for a symbol that could highlight the problems in the non-organic farming sector. Glyphosate proved to be this symbol because of the health risks it poses, such as Parkinson's, ALS and cancer, among other diseases.

Results

Since its launch in November 2023, several thousand test results have been submitted. These results are alarming: all participants had glyphosate in their systems, well above the laboratory's detection limit.

Difference between age and gender

Interestingly, older participants had lower levels of glyphosate in their bodies than younger participants, and women showed lower levels than men. The reasons for this are currently under investigation.

Long-term effect of glyphosate

The long-term effect of glyphosate remains a worrying issue, especially since there has been no comprehensive research into its long-term effects, as Professor Bas Bloem of Radboud University regularly highlights [1]. Although the risk is clear, there still remains a lack of testing by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Organic food as a solution

One bright spot is that studies show that after two weeks of eating organically, glyphosate levels in urine can drop significantly [2]. Want to know for yourself what's in your body? Watch the video for all the details and order a glyphosate test kit today!
