Join the Fresh Expert Talk about Living Wage on 23 February!

German fruit & vegetable platform Frische Seminar is organising a “Fresh Expert Talk” seminar about Living Wage on 23 February. Volkert Engelsman, CEO and founder of Eosta, will explain how companies can make Living Wage work and use it to improve their social impact. Eosta is the first fruit & vegetable company with a practical Living Wage approach and three Living Wage products in the store shelves.  Volkert will explain the motivations, the stumbling blocks and report his experiences in practice.

Some background:  
Through promotions, discounts etc, food is offered cheaper and cheaper, which tends to have a negative impact on the wages of farm workers and farmers at the start of the supply chain.  In order to fight poverty and avoid global instability in the future, the wage gap must be closed. As a pioneer on the topic of living wage in the fruit and vegetable sector, Eosta has set up projects that enable farm workers to earn a living wage, rather than an unsustainable minimum wage.  More information can be found here.
